Organizations everywhere are under pressure to adopt environmentally responsible practices, especially in agriculture, where emissions are high. Applied Carbon stepped up to address this by developing mobile biochar technology—a sustainable solution that not only captures carbon, but also nurtures healthier soils. The team approached Wunderdogs, where I work as senior designer, with the challenge of creating a new brand, visual identity and web platform.
I developed an identity that is rooted in both nature and technology; as well as one that highlights the end-to-end process of Applied Carbon's operation—taking crop waste, pyrolysing it at high temperature to produce biochar, and storing it underground to sustainably remove carbon—which is shown in everything from the logo mark to the colour palette to the imagery selection.
